Lightning strike.

Now this happen way back when i was young. We lived out in the country a bit in this old, raggy house that sat on top of the hill with a driveway that came up the hill about halfway...and then circled up the hill to the back of the house so you can park.

Following all that? it's required info, trust me lol

During this time, my brother was driving this busted ass toyota truck. We're talking push button start, the sunroof didn't bolt down, no passenger seat (and you could see the road thru the floor), no keys to the door, rag stuffed in the gas filler....just a POS.

So i'm sitting at home alone late one night...i think it was a friday...and i'm pretty sure i was grounded LOL believe it or not...i was a terrible kid...and i'm in the living room where you can see down the driveway. i look out, and i can see a car pull in the driveway. about halfway up...the car turns off it's headlights so it just has it's amber parking lights on. so all i can now see is these two amber lights coming up the driveway. so i watch those two lights come up the driveway...then i see one go away (meaning that the car just started to circle the house)...when suddenly i see BOTH lights again...then one of the lights moved ABOVE the other..and then suddenly they are both gone??!!

WTF??!

So i go running outside....cuz i just can't wrap my mind around what i just saw...and i see my brother's truck, laying on it's side, and homeboy is climbing out the passenger window...which is now facing straight up.

oh shit!

It's about this time when notice that my brother is...uhhh.."slightly alliberated" (i found out later it was a drink called a "screwdriver"...and i found out later in my life what THAT drink is all about LOL). so after a few words...we decide how much trouble we're going to be in here (well...He'll be in trouble...and he'll take it out on me cuz i saw it all happen lol) and decide we need to fix the situation.

So we push that heap back over on it's wheels and my brother tries to start it. nothing. shit. so he starts rumagging under the hood and finds the prob...one of the battery terminal connectors has been torn off the wiring, torn off the batt...and is gone. gotta has power to start, huh? guess we need to find that lol. so my brother and i start searching the ground, on our hands and knees, with only a lighter to see by.

did i mention that the truck had no gas cap? so there might have been a slight amount of gas cover the grass.
so we are now looking around the yard for this connector.
on our hands and knees.
with only a lighter to see by.
in fuel saturated grass.

suprisingly....we DIDN'T burst into flames lol.

So we find the connector, he slaps it on the batt, and...hmmm...hmmm..how is this frayed wire going to connect to that?
My brother: "ok...this is what we're going to do. you're going to take this wire and hold it here to the battery...and i'm going to start (meaning he's going to just push that big fucking button) the truck."
i think for a second...yeah, THIS sounds safe, "Fuck that."
LOL
"you fuggin pussy, it's not gonna hurt you i can't beleive what a....blah blah..(i'll spare the rest of the insults)..fine! I'LL hold this, YOU start the truck!"

i can do that :)

i hop in the truck,
"you ready?"
"yeah i'm ready you ^^$%&#%^ $%$%&&^%^ litttle %#@% mother ^$#^^&&....." you get the idea
so i hit the button.

Now.....

I'm sure that the chances of an actual lightning strike on a clear night are fairly slim....but that HAD to be what happen! no shit! i'm sitting there...i hit that button and all i see is bright light surrounding a black sqaure that is the popped open hood! and someone is screaming! oh shit! so i let go of the button (LOL opps) and run around the front to see what happen. my brother is standing there, looking in the engine bay, face smoking, and says, "well THAT'S not gonna work"

LOL no?

So we just decide to push his heap up the road and we'll figure the rest out tomorrow.

side note: it took MONTHS for our mom to finally see the damage and find out her oldest son rolled his truck....in her driveway. and that was only after we finally TOLD her about it. she never noticed on her own
